The Lazy Swede Ranch is not your typical seedstock operation. Unique in the fact that we run our cows like commercial cows, expecting them to graze native pastures and crop residues 10 months out of the year. Located in the Nebraska Panhandle and SE Montana, precipitation can be scarce. It takes a specific kind of cow to survive and thrive in our environment without substantial harvested feedstuffs. Our cow herd management style, along with precise genetic selection… has allowed us to confidently achieve a type of bull quality to move your operation in the right direction.

This positive result is due to the intense selection pressure in our operation for feed efficiency. LSR sired females are the "Swiss Army knife" of the beef industry. Breeding early and often, they possess more maternal heterosis than a purebred female. You will also benefit from their easy fleshing ability, moderate mature weight, and longevity. Data from the USDA Meat Animal Research Center, Clay Center NE, shows that crossbred cows have a lifetime advantage of 23% more pounds weaned than their purebred herd mates.
